Description : Annual herb, 15-45 cm long; stem simple or branched, softly woolly. Leaves sessile, 2.5-6.3 cm long, spathulate-oblong or linear oblong, woolly on both surfaces. Flowers in dense, leafless, corymbose clusters of yellow glistening heads.

Plant Location in Melghat : Very common, often froming conspicuous patches on soft mud along stream and river margins, in drying ponds,shade of walls

Medicinal Use / Activity : The leaves are used as an astringent and vulnerary. The tomentum is applied as counter irritant for gout. Leaves: useful in wounds and burns, also used internally to check discharge of blood serum or mucous secretions.
