Description | : | Erect, annual herbs upto 1 m tall; branchlets glabrous to hispid. Leaves 4-10 cm long; leaflets 15-30 pairs, subsessile, 2.5-7 x 1-2 mm, linear-oblong or elliptic-oblong, base oblique, apex obtuse, apiculate; stipules 5-10 mm long, lanceolate, acuminate, peltate. Flowers 7-10 mm long in 1-4-flowered axillary racemes; pedicel to 5 mm long; bracts c. 5 mm long, ovate, acuminate, bracteoles 2-3 mm long, c. 1 mm wide, ovate-lanceolate. Calyx 4-5 mm long, deeply 2-lipped, glabrous. Corolla exserted, pale yellow; standard orbicular, red-striped; wing obovate; keel to 7x3 mm, oblong. Staminal sheath to 4 mm long. Ovary to 6 mm long; ovules many; style c. 3 mm long. Pods 2.5-3.7 x 0.4-0.5 cm, linear, compressed, straight or curved with 4-8 joints, long stalked, sometimes muricate. Seeds 2.5-3.5 mm long, reniform, dark brown. |
