Leaf-sheaths lax, imbricate, to 4 cm, keeled; ligule a fimbriate rim, to 0.5 mm; blades lanceolate, 2-10 cm, flat, to 5 mm wide, scaberulous at top, abruptly obtuse. Panicles terminal, to 12 cm, interrupted; spatheoles 8 x 2 mm, plicate, glabrous. Homogamous spikelet to 4 mm. Sessile spikelet: lower glume lanceolate, to 4.5 mm, subcoriaceous, beak elongate, 2-fid, 3-nerved, sparsely ciliate; upper glume to 4 mm; lower lemma to 3 mm; upper lemma to 2 mm, 2-fid, awn to 1.2 cm, paleate. Caryopsis ellipsoid, to 2.5 mm. Pedicelled spikelet to 4 mm. |
